I am not a bike designer, however, Placing the shock up top in that position increases the effective swing arm and lever length amplifying any bending moment acting around the ends of the rear axel meaning you would need allot more reinforcment in the z direction on the crank housing and top tube aswell as a much beefier swing arm to overcome the lateral forces. The weight saving claimed would be offset by the gurders you would need to prevent flex, yielding and snap. There are a whole load of other fundamentals that have been overlooked, what is the point to this!!! Anyone interested in giving me a job pleae get in touch.
